Take A Look Back: Have You Fulfilled Your Goals in 2011??

As we near the end of 2011, I can't help but think back over the past 10 months and wonder if I truly met my goals.

Do you have any New Year's Resolutions that you set at the beginning of the year, but have not yet reached?  I know that I have.

With two months left in the remaining year, I am taking the time to re-evaluate and re-set my goals.  I'd like to help you do the same by following these easy steps:

1.  Think about the goals that you have set for yourself.
2.  Re-evaluate these goals and decide if they are attainable.  If your goal is not within reach, you are just setting yourself up for failure.  This will cause you to become discouraged and you will give up.
3.  Write down your goals. This will help you to visualize your goals and make them more real to you.
4.  Write down the steps you need to take to reach these goals.
5.  Create what our team likes to call a dreamboard.  Post pictures, stickies, etc of what you can expect when you reach your goal.  (Ex.  if you're starting a new business or job, cut out pictures of things you would like to have once you have made your goal and post them to daily remind you of what you hope to accomplish)
6.  Tell someone what your goal is and make them hold you accountable for it.  They will help you stay on track.
7.  Take daily steps to reach your goals.

May we all take the time to recognize what we want out of life, establish our goals and take action to reach them!  Have a great weekend everyone!

6 Tips for Using LinkedIn to Promote Your Business

Are you looking for ways to expand your business?  There are so many avenues to explore today with social media.  One avenue that I personally have overlooked the value of is LinkedIn.
Linkedin is a great place to market and network your business.  Here are 6 tips for using LinkedIn to promote your business:
1.  Set up your profile and make sure it is complete.  The more detailed your profile, the more likely you will be found and contacted.  Be sure to include a photo of yourself.
2.  Once your profile is complete, be sure to make it public.  If you have a website or blog to promote, be sure to include it on the Links section of your profile.
3.  Join groups.  You can join up to 50 LinkedIn groups.  Connect with other members and build your network.
4.  Create a group.  Center discussions around what you have to offer people and the company you work for.
5.  Use the Q & A function of LinkedIn. Try using the advanced answers search to find questions specific to your company’s expertise.  However, don’t pitch your company’s products or services; just answer the question.
6.  Get recommendations.  The best way to get recommendations is to give them, so take some time to write recommendations for your contacts and they will most likely reciprocate.

Once you've devoted some time and attention to LinkedIn, you're likely to see results!

Please feel free to share your comments/thoughts as to how LinkedIn or this article has helped you and your business.

Are you dreaming yet?

Is 2011 going to be the year that you make your dreams a reality?  What are your dreams?  To get a new job?  To travel?  To be more financially secure?  Perhaps starting your own business?

Make this the year that you accomplish your goals.  Take a "No Matter What" attitude and take action.

First of all, be sure to write down your goals.  Once they are in writing, your mind will be more focused on accomplishing them.

Secondly, post them where you'll see them often.  This will serve as a constant reminder for you!

Do not let any obstacles stand in your way!  If becoming financially secure is your goal, set out to establish a Plan B.  Something that will fill in the gaps for you and will be there for you as a backup.  If starting your own business is a goal, talk to people who have done this and get their advice.  Also, feel free to check out the free training videos on my blog that will show what to look for in a home business.

Above all, be determined to make your goals and dreams a reality in 2011!  Let us all start dreaming!
